Welcome to the Taiwan International Vocal Festival(TIVF), the first and the most significant and the organized a cappella festival in Asia. The Taiwan Choral Music Center hosted the first Choral Ensemble Competition in 2001. During the competition, we were touched by a group of singers that were completely devoted to their music. Not only were they able to give an astounding performance with a limited number of people, the harmony between them and their interaction and stage performance were also a sight to behold.
Every autumn, a cappella lovers from different countries came to our island and bring back memories full of fun and excitement. The festival is about making friends with a cappella lovers from all culture backgrounds, connecting people through vocal singing, exchanging music and culture experiences and after all…having a good time!!
"Music, Friendship and an experience of a life time!" That's the goal of our festival.
The goal of this festival is to facilitate intercultural communication among a cappella singers with diverse background. We want foreign participants not only get to know the Taiwanese singers, but also the local culture. We want the Taiwanese people, on the other hand, to expose to different types of a cappella singing and to bridge up the local singing community to the world! Here are some special features:
- GUIDES: language and culture of an unknown place can cause fear. In order to ensure each group enjoys our culture without hasitation, a volunteered guide will be provided for each group to guarentee a comfortable stay.
- CAMPUS VISITS: The most direct and intimate way to get to know the youngsters in Taiwanese a cappella scene.
- SIGHTSEEING : we try to arrange each group to have enough time for both music and leisure activities.
- COMPETITION: This is just a means of music exchange in a more excited way. We have many money prizes.
- TOURING CONCERTS : Instead of staying in the Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. We try to bring the groups to other towns on our island and expose to different part of our culture; including contacts with other Asian countries is available too!
- FREE ACCOMODATIONS : Basically, the cost in Taiwan is almost free for you unless you want to stay more leisure days by yourself.
The Taiwan International A Cappella Festival features a variety of performances, styles, and activities, In the future, we will incorporate even more styles of performance and aesthetics to make the Taiwan International A Cappella Festival a utopia of world-class performances.
